Next KERA Committee meeting is on the 14th of May

Hello Kambala residents,

We hope you’re all enjoying the lovely weather!

We’re pleased to let you know that KERA’s next public committee meeting will take place on Wednesday, 14th May 2025, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Kambala Community Clubroom, SW11 2LU.

We’re happy to confirm that Laura Gavin from the Eastern Area Housing Team and Vanessa Santos will be joining us. We’ve also invited a representative from the Waste Management Team to help address any questions or concerns you may have about bin collection or fly tipping which was a popular topic when we collected the signatures in March.

Please help us spread the word—share this information with any neighbours who aren’t on the Kambala WhatsApp group or may not be aware of our website.

The meeting agenda is currently being finalised and will be posted on all our noticeboards as soon as it’s ready.

We look forward to seeing you there!

“Beyond the Bridge” Co-design Workshop

Today, I had my Chair of Kambala Estate Residents Association hat on 🎩, attending the inspiring “Beyond the Bridge” co-design workshop hosted by POor Collective at St Peter’s Battersea.

The session focused on gathering ideas and taking part in shaping the Falcon Road Bridge’s exciting transformation alongside fellow community members.
What I truly love about this project is how community voices are being placed at the heart of the design process. It’s not just about creating something visually striking—it’s about building something together, that reflects the people who live here. It was also an opportunity to catch up with Roopa Basu and Jeanne Rathbone.

Looking forward to seeing this vision come to life! ❤️

Housing Workshop

Yesterday, a few Kambala Estate committee members and residents attended the Cllr Aydin Dikerdem Housing Workshop at the York Gardens Library. The workshop was followed by a question and answer and few of our residents took part telling their issues to Cllr Aydin Dikerdem who is the Cabinet member for housing at the Wandsworth Council.

A few of them were having issues with dampness and mould so I have attached this new leaflet that may help you with your issues.

Don’t hesitate to contact the council to remove mould in your flat, I did and they came and cleaned the mould off.

Kambala on the March 2025 Edition of Homelife

I know Christmas feels like ages ago, but the council just featured our Kambala Christmas Party and Grotto in the March edition of Homelife! 🎄✨ So lovely to see our community celebration being recognised! 💫

KERA walk around the estate

Kera committee members met on the 26th of February to walk around the estate with the Estate managers and the Wandsworth waste management team. It was positive.

We found an alternative by having few big recycling bin installed as a trial.
This still need to be confirmed by the council, but watch this space…

Wandsworth London Borough of Culture 2025

Wandsworth’s London Borough of Culture 2025 Programme has launched!

Kicking off this April, our year-long celebration will bring people together to enjoy the rich mix of traditions, festivals, food, and arts that make our borough so special. This year is all about showing how culture can spark joy, making us feel happier, healthier and more connected to each other.

Sandra Munoz-Alvarez, chair of Kambala Resident Association, is one of the Wandsworth London Borough of Culture’s Champions, and she will make sure to share all the amazing events currently brewing for this amazing year through her Battersea Noticeboard Whatsapp group. The champions are local creatives who share the information, attend funding decision meetings for the various art funds, and are involved directly with the London Borough of Culture. In Kambala, we started the London Borough of Culture year by securing funding from the the Royal Academy of Dance and organising free Flamenco Classes in our community clubroom

KERA Website Revamped

We’re excited to announce that the Kambala Residents’ Association website has been revamped—with a new name and a fresh look!

You can now find us at www.mykambala.co.uk.
We chose this name because Kambala is more than just an estate

Our email has also changed to [email protected], making it easier to reach us.

The updated website will keep you informed about events, community projects, resident updates, and ways to get involved. Check it out and stay connected! 💙🏡

Help Us Keep KERA Accredited!

Kambala Residents’ Association will soon be knocking on doors to collect signatures from at least 20% of our residents—a requirement to remain an accredited Resident Association. We must complete this process by the end of March 2025.

One of our KERA committee member will contact you back, bring you the form and collect the signatures wit you on your chosen time.

Your support keeps our community strong—thank you! 💙🏡
